I am Makoto Fukutomi, the Managing Director of TOWAM Sdn Bhd in Penang, Malaysia.

Our parent company, TOWA Corporation is located in Kyoto and we are well known as one of the world’s most eminent Semiconductor Packaging Equipment maker and developer which emphasizes molding technology as its core competence.  TOWAM, along side with sister company, TOWA Suzhou Co. Ltd. in Suzhou, China, is a very important manufacturing plant belonging to the TOWA group of companies.

TOWAM delivers world-class equipment developed by our Engineering Department in HQ directly to customers in competitive lead time and costs without compromising on its quality.  This is made possible since the implementation of the Cell Production Method adopted by the Manufacturing and Production Engineering Department in building mass products with unique customers’ specifications flexibility to meet our customers’ needs.  Our Design Department is effectively modifying our equipment according to customers’ specification.  Apart from the sales and marketing function which is undertaken by HQ, Towam directly ships over 70% of total sales to our customers encompassing the whole cycle of designing, manufacturing, inspection, calibration, packing and shipping.

In addition to the semiconductor market, we envisage increasing our production capacity for manufacturing equipment to the LED and automobile sectors that are fast expanding.  And, to satisfy customers’ requirement, we will extend our Cell Production Method for Multi-Type Mix Production and enhance stability of product quality.  At the same time, we will promote local procurement, make every effort to shorten delivery lead time and reduce cost.
